Hello!

Last Monday we started our exchange which is why I didn't have a lot of time to email. The exchange was great and a lot of fun! It was also a little crazy. We spent pday together and that was great and we met a man from Switzerland and taught him a lesson!! Later that night Sister Higley almost got thieved! (They (the sisters I was with) kept saying that instead of robbed or pickpocketed or nešto tako (something like that) and I thought that was hilarious so I just had to say it.) There were three men walking behind us (probably in their twenties or something) and they were walking kind of close to us but it didn't cross my mind that anything was off. Then the sidewalk narrowed a little so I fell back a little behind Sister Higley so we would all fit. I saw a hand pull away from her bag and panic shot through me. (She has a backpack.) I grabbed my bag and moved directly behind her, blocking them from getting into her bag again. At first it didn't look like it had been opened so I freaked out a little less. Then I looked closer and it was. So I started to get into her bag to see if anything was gone. I stopped them and was freaking out a little trying to find her wallet while the men walked past us. I couldn't see her wallet but she found it in there. It was scary. But it was okay!

On our exchange back, we met in this way cool town and took our lunch break there to see some stuff. It was SO COOL. See pictures.

Thursday was Thanksgiving. We had it a week early. It was tasty and a lot of fun. After, Sister Higley, Sister Newton (senior couple), and I went and got massages. It was so weird and so good. That was my first time. Definitely not something I am used to. It was fun though!

The other day we were on the tram and this baka (grandma, old lady, etc.) got on the tram and it started to move and she wasn't quite stable yet. She reached her hands out and one grabbed the wall and the other grabbed my butt. I was a little shocked but then we just helped her up the steps on the tram and she said sorry and we went on our way. It was weird but it was way funny!

Yesterday we visited a member and she is just the sweetest thing ever!! She is less active but so amazing. She lives far away and I think that is part of the reason she is less active. Her son is serving a mission right now though! On our way, we got lost (VERY easy to do in this country). The GPS didn't recognize her address so I had to get there by memory. I have only been there once. We turned down a road I thought was the right one and we went on it for a minute or so then there was this sign ⛔ and I knew something was wrong. Well, the road had stopped for the direction I was going and turned into a two lane road for the oncoming traffic. Good news: there weren't a lot of cars out so nothing bad happened. And I turned around before we were even driving the wrong direction! Goodness.

Underground church on the exchange back.
While we were at the member's house, we were talking and I understood a lot more than last time and she told me good job for learning the language! I felt so accomplished!! I still don't speak very well but it's coming! It was nice to see progress. Last week in church, we had most of it in Bosnian and I understood a lot of that too! I am getting closer! I am very grateful for the gift of tongues. That is for sure!

On the exchange back.
Srdačni pozdrav, (Sincerely yours,)
Sestra Locey
